Privacy — your documents stay on your device

ConvertForge uses pdf-lib for PDF editing and creation, and pdf.js for rendering — both libraries run entirely in your browser. Your PDF files are never uploaded to any server. All splitting, merging, compressing, and page manipulation happens locally on your device. This makes ConvertForge appropriate for confidential documents — though you should always follow your organisation's data policies when handling sensitive files.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the PDF tools completely free?

Yes — all tools are free with no account, no subscription, and no watermark added to your output. Tools labelled "Coming Soon" are not yet functional and are clearly marked in the tool grid.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. PDF processing runs in your browser using pdf-lib and pdf.js. Your files are never sent to any server or stored anywhere.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no hard limit — file size is only constrained by your browser's available memory. Most PDFs up to several hundred MB will process without issue.

Will PDF to JPG or Protect PDF be available?

PDF to JPG and Protect PDF are shown as Coming Soon in the tool grid. PDF to JPG requires pixel-level rendering from pdf.js which is complex to implement client-side; PDF encryption requires server-side processing not yet available.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes — all live PDF tools work in modern browsers on iOS and Android. Some large file operations may be slower on mobile due to memory constraints.
