Vector rotation — no rasterization
Pages are rotated using a PDF content stream transform. Text stays selectable, fonts stay embedded, and vectors stay crisp at any zoom level.
Original page size preserved
The MediaBox is never changed. Viewers like Acrobat, Preview, and Chrome all show the full original page canvas — only the content rotates.
Private by design
Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. No file ever leaves your device.
How to deskew a PDF online
Drop your PDF onto the upload area, then drag the correction angle slider left or right to compensate for the skew angle. The live preview rotates with the slider so you can see the effect before exporting. Choose whether to apply the correction to all pages, the current page, or a custom page range, then click Deskew PDF and download the corrected file.
When to use the deskew tool
Scanned documents frequently come out slightly crooked — even a fraction of a degree makes columns of text appear tilted and reduces OCR accuracy. The deskew tool lets you apply a small rotation correction (−10° to +10°) to all pages, a single page, or a custom page range. Because the rotation is applied as a PDF content-stream transform, the text layer stays selectable and the original page size is preserved — unlike raster tools that convert pages to images first.
Privacy — straighten your PDF without uploading it
Deskew PDF runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is never sent to any server. The rotation transform is computed locally and the resulting PDF is offered for download directly from your browser memory — no account, no signup, and no file stored anywhere outside your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will deskewing change the page size?
No. The MediaBox (page canvas) is never changed. Only the content stream is rotated around the page centre. All PDF viewers — Acrobat, Preview, Chrome — will continue to show the original page dimensions.
Does deskewing affect selectable text and embedded fonts?
No. Because the tool applies a PDF vector transform rather than rasterising the page, text remains selectable, fonts stay embedded, and vector graphics stay crisp at any zoom level.
What angle should I use?
Most scanner skew is between 0.5° and 3°. Start with a small value, watch the preview, and increase until horizontal lines appear level. Positive angles rotate content counter-clockwise; negative angles rotate clockwise.
Can I deskew only certain pages?
Yes. Choose "Current page" to apply the correction only to the page visible in the preview, or "Page range" to enter a list such as 1–3, 5, 7 before clicking Deskew PDF.
